边银丙，华中农业大学植物科技学院教授、博士生导师，华中农业大学应用真菌研究所所长。1993年获华中农业大学植物病理学专业硕士学位，1997年获华中农业大学微生物专业博士学位。 1984年7月开始在华中农业大学植保系任教；1996年12月被评聘为副教授。2004年10月被评聘为教授。1997年起任硕士生导师，2005年起任博士生导师。主讲研究生课程《真菌生物学》《食用菌研究法》、《食用菌研究进展》，讲授本科生课程《食用菌栽培学》、《蘑菇与人类生活》、《真菌基础》、《微生物学》《植物病理学》、《药用真菌》等。现任中国食用菌协会副会长，中国菌物学会副理事长，中国农村专业技术协会食用菌专业委员会主任委员，国家食用菌产业技术体系病虫害综合防控研究室主任、岗位科学家，湖北省食用菌工程技术研究中心主任，湖北省食用菌协会会长，农业部微生物产品质量监督检验测试中心（武汉）副主任；《菌物学报》、《菌物研究》、《食用菌学报》编委，农业部食（药）用菌品种认定委员会委员，湖北省农作物品种认定委员会食用菌委员会主任委员。
