1996-1997，华中理工大学光电子工程系，讲师； 1997-1998，华中理工大学光电子工程系，副教授； 1998-2000，华中理工/科技大学生物医学工程系副教授； 2000-今，华中科技大学生命科学与工程学院，生物医学光子学教育部重点实验室，教授； 2005-今，武汉光电国家实验室（筹）Britton Chance生物医学光子学中心，教授研究方向：主要从事生物医学光学、生物医学成像研究。针对高时空分辨观测神经活动基本过程的需求，系统深入地从理论、方法、仪器到应用开展了飞秒激光显微成像研究，建立神经回路与蛋白质功能高分辨成像新技术新方法，并进行生物功能信息的整合、模拟与可视化等研究。
